A Solution for Slow Printing

The problem. Most problems with slow printing are caused by defects in the fancy print drivers for select inkjet printers. These problems range from sluggish printing to complete freeze-ups. All such problems have stemmed from a new generation of drivers for HP inkjet printers, usually when operating under Windows XP. While they do not cause problems on all computers (and, in fact, have not caused problems for us when using the same printer, driver, and operating system as the victimized customers), there is an easy solution.

The solution. Because of the new capabilities of our Print Window, you now have an easy solution for slow printing. You can use HP's black-and-white driver originally designed for their HP 550C printer in place of the driver that came with your printer. With our new Print Window you can now do this without affecting any of your other programs, so you will still have features that may be of benefit to other programs. Merely download the 550C driver from HP's web site (www.hp.com) and install it on your computer, but retain your original driver as your "default" driver. The first time thereafter that you print with Tax Preparer, change the setting on our Print window to select the 550C driver. Thereafter, the fast 550C driver will be used for printing every time you use Tax Preparer without affecting your other programs.
