Changes in recent releases

(updated 4/2/2009)

Release 2009.01e differs from release 2009.01d in the addition of Form 3468 to all levels and the updating of the manual for accordingly. (You can download the IRS form and instructions here: Form 3468 / Instructions for Form 3468. You should save them to the DOC2009 folder within the folder where you installed Tax Preparer, usually C:\TAX, so that you can access them from the floating Tax Preparer Control Panel.)

Release 2009.01d differs from release 2009.01c in the addition of Form 8910 to the Standard and Premium Levels and the updating of the manual for all levels.

Release 2009.01c differs from release 2009.01b in the addition of Form 8611 to the Premium Level and the updating of the manual for all levels.

Release 2009.01b differs from release 2009.01a as follows:

  • Graphic printing of Form 1065 pages 2 and 3 (Schedules A and B) ensured for both Windows-graphic Printing and Laser-graphic Printing. Formerly, the graphic forms were inadvertently omitted for the Economy Level, so only blank fill-in printing was available.
  • The printing of "1065" in the upper left corner of the graphic printed Form 1065 pages 2 through 5 is now properly omitted. Formerly, this form number was printed on graphic forms for the Economy Level; it is designed to be printed only for a blank fill-in.
  • Partnership Tax Forms Guide updated with minor corrections to the details for Schedule K.

Release 2009.01a differs from release 2009.01 as follows:

  • Makes a mandatory change for ALL levels of the software concerning a problem with transfers from Schedule A (1065) to Form 1065 and Schedule K, as detailed in Technical Change Notice TCTP0904.
  • Adds Form 7004 to the Standard and Premium Levels. CAUTION: The automatic extension provided by this form is now just 5 months instead of 6 months.
  • Adds Form 8586 to the Premium Level, which now has a separate section for new property, since the Low-Income Housing Credit for new buildings is not subject to reduction by the tentative minimum tax.
  • Removes Form 8834 from the Premium Level because the Qualified Electric Vehicle Credit is an expired credit that is no longer relevant to partnerships.
  • Revises the Partnership Tax Forms Guide to reflect the above changes.
